Job Description

We are seeking a part-time baker who will be responsible for baking fresh loaves of bread, prepared pastries, and setting out baked goods for selling day. These will be early morning shifts, from Thursday to Saturday. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Measuring and weighing ingredients
  • Mixing, kneading, shaping bread dough, and pastries.
  • Preparing items for sale, including slicing, bagging, and decorating.
  • Ensuring that baked goods are ready in time for delivery.
  • Cleanup.

Job Requirements (Skills, Qualifications)

Qualifications:

  • Current Food Handling certificate.
  • Ability to adhere to health and safety codes.
  • Baking.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Overnight Baker

Flour Child Bakery Inc is growing, and we are looking for a qualified staff member to join our team.  Currently, we are seeking an Overnight Baker. We provide a fun work environment and training to ensure your success.

As a Baker, you will:

  • Work as part of a small team to bake products from our scratch recipes.  Products to include, but not limited to Artisan breads, Croissants, and pastries.
  • Follow production schedules and recipes including measuring and mixing ingredients, molding and shaping dough, and handling breads throughout the baking process.
  • Bake prepared pastries based on production schedules
  • Direct assistant staff in finishing products, cutting, packaging and setting product up for display.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.

What are we looking for:

  • Someone who is looking to work the overnight shift as this position starts at 11pm and will work until 7am.
  • You are on time and reliable.
  • 2 – 3 years baking experience 
  • A positive attitude, good organizational skills, and a strong sense of urgency. 
  • You currently hold a Halton Region Food Safety Handling Certificate or will obtain within 1-month of holding position. 

Physical Requirements of this position include but are not limited to:

    • Continuous standing and walking for all tasks
    • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 9 kg., occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 kg
    • Frequent turning and reaching.
    • Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping
    • Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending
